About Bikasuishin

What is this place?

This is a beautification enforcement area. You are prohibited from disposing of litter in an irresponsible manner.

Beautification enforcement areaSign reads: koko wa bikasuishin kyōka kuiki desu.

Seriously, though, I intend to write about various topics of my fancy, mostly of the cute or beautiful kind, or in which I happen to otherwise take some sort of aesthetic interest. For I busy myself, most of the day, doing Arithmetic, which, as we know from the Mock Turtle, consists of a good part of uglification. It is surely well-advised to try and compensate a little.

So what are those cute and beautiful things you're writing about?

Not myself, that's for sure. As you probably noticed, I can hardly deny being infatuated with all things Japanese (well, not literally all of them, but quite a few), and this is likely to be the focus of most entries. Mainly anime and other tidbits of popular culture, presumably. Other than that, I might occasionally write about mathematics, which do have a beautiful side as well (even though I understand this is not going to help building a readership), and perhaps (live-action) cinema, especially from East Asia.

In keeping with the slogan of `beautification enforcement,' I will try to refrain (and given my current posting drive, that shouldn't be too difficult) from writing about works I particularly dislike. Words of praise may be harder to come up with than witty pokes, but I like the idea of sharing the former better.

Note that this blog is officially trilingual: entries can be written in any combination of French, tentative English and beginner's Japanese, French being the most likely for obvious reasons.

Should this ever matter to anyone, however unlikely, all the articles here that are of my making are distributed, and can be copied, re-used and modified, under the terms of the GFDL with no invariant sections, front-cover texts or back-cover texts. I would appreciate to be notified if you do use one.
