I said I would try and make a subtitle file out of yesterday's translation attempt. Well, here it is. Matching the English text to the voices helped correcting a few glaring mistakes in the translation, but don't expect it to live up to any sort of quality standards. You will surely notice that my skills at timing are abysmal, too (heck, this has to be my second sub, and then the first one was Angel's Egg ;-).

Oukashou: a tentative translation
Tentative translation and transcript below.
Director Shinkai Makoto's latest piece, Byousoku 5 Centi, a collection of three short movies connected by a common theme, is easily one of the most anticipated animated features of 2007. It is scheduled to hit the theatres in Japan starting from March 3rd. This week-end, Yahoo made the first of these three parts, entitled Oukashou (桜花抄, or Extract of cherry blossom), available to premium users for streaming—so that it is safe to assume the segment is all over the Internet by now.
